The TP-Link SG3218XP-M2 is a managed switch compatible with the Omada system. It features 16 2.5G Ethernet ports and 2 SFP+ (10G) slots. Eight of the Ethernet ports provide PoE+ power output (802.3af/at). The maximum power output per port, according to standards, is 15.4W for 802.3af or 30W for 802.3at, with a total power budget of 240W for the entire device. The switch is designed for modern networks using Wi-Fi 6E / Wi-Fi 7 access points with 2.5G Ethernet ports. It supports basic Layer 2 management functions as well as select Layer 3 features, such as static routing, DHCP server, and static ARP. The enclosure is rack-mountable for a 19" rack with a height of 1U. The switch includes a built-in AC power supply, with a maximum power consumption of 299W. You can manage the SG3218XP-M2 via a graphical web interface (standalone mode) or through the Omada system.
8x 2.5G Ethernet PoE+, 8x 2.5G Ethernet, 2x SFP+
The switch is equipped with a total of 16 2.5G Ethernet ports and 2 SFP+ slots. It is ideal for networks with infrastructure based on 2.5 Gbps throughput. The maximum packet forwarding rate is 89.28 Mpps, and the total switching capacity is 120 Gbps.
Eight of the Ethernet ports feature PoE+ power output (802.3af/at). The maximum power output per port is 15.4W for 802.3af or 30W for 802.3at, according to the standard. The total power budget for all ports is 240W.
The device is an excellent fit for Omada networks, particularly where modern Wi-Fi 6E / Wi-Fi 7 access points with 2.5G Ethernet ports are used.
Layer 2+ management, AC power supply
The SG3218XP-M2 supports basic Layer 2 management functions and fully handles multicast, including IGMP and MLD Snooping. It also supports some Layer 3 features, such as a DHCP server, static routing, proxy ARP, and DHCP Relay. The switch includes advanced security features to protect your network from various attacks. Additionally, it supports special ISP functions (available only in standalone mode, not in the Omada system), such as L2TP, PPPoE ID Insertion, DLDP, IGMP authentication, and 802.3ah OAM.
The offered product comes with a built-in AC power supply. The input voltage ranges from 100 to 240 V AC, and the appropriate power cable is included in the package. The maximum power consumption is 299.4W.Rack 19" cabinet
The device's enclosure is designed for mounting in a 19" rack, with a height of 1U. Its depth is 180 mm, so the switch will easily fit into a standard rack.
Omada System Compatibility
You can manage the device using a graphical web interface in standalone mode. In this mode, the switch supports additional features, such as QinQ, L2TP PPPoE ID Insertion, and IGMP authentication. You can also manage it through the Omada system, which allows centralized management of multiple access points, switches, and routers to create a unified, extensive wireless network. As you move between different APs, you will be automatically switched without losing your Wi-Fi connection. Omada offers many advanced features for network configuration and maintenance, making it a professional solution for offices, restaurants, schools, universities, and markets.
