The TP-Link ER7412-M2 is a router compatible with the Omada system. It features 2x 2.5G Ethernet ports, 2x SFP slots (1G), and 8x gigabit Ethernet ports. The device supports load balancing, with each interface capable of functioning as either WAN or LAN. You can utilize up to 11 WAN ports simultaneously, offering great flexibility. The router is powered by a high-performance quad-core processor clocked at 2 GHz and has 1 GB of DDR4 RAM. It supports multiple VPN types, including GRE, WireGuard, IPsec, OpenVPN, L2TP, and PPTP. You can manage the ER7412-M2 via a web browser (standalone mode) or through the Omada app. The latter is ideal for networks consisting of other compatible devices, such as access points. The Omada platform allows centralized management of multiple devices without needing to log into each one individually. Additionally, the ER7412-M2 has a USB 3.0 port that can be used to connect external storage or an LTE modem. Connecting an external modem provides an additional backup connection.
High performance
The router is equipped with a quad-core processor clocked at 2 GHz and 1 GB of RAM, providing high performance. The NAT routing throughput (depending on configuration) can reach up to 2353 / 2353 Mbps. The device allows you to build a network infrastructure based on the 2.5G Ethernet standard. The ER7412-M2 is suitable for a variety of networks, with its primary application being in different types of business or office networks.
2x 2.5G Ethernet, 2x SFP, 8x 1G Ethernet
The offered product has a total of 12 ports, including 2x 2.5G Ethernet ports, 2x SFP slots (1G), and 8x gigabit Ethernet ports. Each interface can function as either WAN or LAN, and you can use up to 11 WANs simultaneously. The ER7412-M2 supports load balancing, so if you've connected more than one internet source, the bandwidth will be equally distributed across each source. Additionally, using more than one WAN port protects you from potential outages that may occur in the operator's network.
Omada System Compatibility
You can manage the device using a graphical web interface in standalone mode. In this mode, the router supports more features, including GRE. Alternatively, you can manage it through the Omada system. Omada allows centralized management of multiple access points, switches, and routers to create a unified, large-scale wireless network. As you move between individual APs, you will be automatically switched without losing your Wi-Fi connection. Omada offers many advanced features for network configuration and maintenance. It is a solution designed for professional use in offices, restaurants, schools, universities, and supermarkets.
VPN server
The ER7412-M2 can function as a VPN server, supporting various standards including SSL, IPSec, GRE, WireGuard, PPTP, L2TP, and OpenVPN. It is well-suited for large networks to ensure secure connections between multiple locations.
DPI
The DPI (Deep Packet Inspection) feature allows for thorough packet inspection. This makes it easier to assign appropriate access rights and access policies to users. The router also supports IP/MAC/URL filtering and Access Control Lists (ACLs).
IDS/IPS
The IDS/IPS engine enhances threat detection and network protection. It features a database with over 7000 signatures for attack recognition. The signatures can be updated regularly to protect you against new threats as well.
DoS/DDOS protection
The router automatically detects and blocks various types of DoS attacks, such as TCP/UDP/ICMP Flooding and Ping of Death.
