Ubiquiti Enterprise Campus 48 PoE is a managed switch designed to work within the UniFi system. It is equipped with 32× 10G Ethernet ports, 16× 2.5G Ethernet ports, and 4× SFP28 (25G) slots. All Ethernet ports provide PoE+++ (802.3bt Type 4) power output, with a maximum output of 90 W per port. The total power budget is 2150 W in Shared mode, in which both power supplies operate simultaneously. If you want to use Redundant mode (where one of the power supplies acts as a backup), the power will be limited to 950 W. The Ethernet ports support the Etherlighting feature, allowing you to illuminate them using appropriate patch cords (e.g., to simplify identification). The switch supports selected Layer 3 management functions, including a DHCP server, DHCP Relay, Inter-VLAN routing, and static routing. It also supports all basic Layer 2 functions, which can be found in the specification below the description. The device is designed for installation in a 19" rack cabinet, and due to its weight, the manufacturer recommends mounting it using 4 rails.

UniFi Enterprise L3 Switch

The offered product is a managed switch designed to operate under the UniFi system. It is an Enterprise-series device intended for use in large, advanced networks. It supports Layer 3 functions such as a DHCP server, DHCP Relay, Inter-VLAN routing, and static routing. In addition, it supports numerous standard Layer 2 functions, and their full list can be found in the specification below the description.

The switch is equipped with 32× 10G Ethernet ports, 16× 2.5G Ethernet ports, and 4× SFP28 (25G) slots, which results in a total throughput of up to 460 Gb/s. It is an excellent choice for networks whose core infrastructure is based on 25G bandwidth, and it allows you to connect modern access points equipped with 10G / 2.5G interfaces. Additionally, each Ethernet port supports automatic speed negotiation down to as low as 10 Mb/s, which greatly simplifies the expansion and modernization of an existing network.

48 PoE+++ ports, power budget up to 2150 W

Each Ethernet port provides PoE+++ (802.3bt Type 4) power output. The output power of a given port depends on the standard in use and is 15.4 W for PoE (802.3af), 30 W for PoE+ (802.3at), 60 W for PoE++ (802.3at Type 3), or 90 W for PoE+++ (802.3bt Type 4). You can connect any UniFi access point to the switch, as well as other devices such as UniFi Access hubs. The set includes two 1200 W power modules. When operating in Shared mode (and both are connected to a power source), the maximum PoE budget is 2150 W. When using Redundant mode (where one power supply acts as a backup), the available PoE budget is 950 W.

Redundancy

The device is designed for uninterrupted operation. It has 2 power supplies that can operate in Redundant mode – if one fails, the other takes over. The switch also features 4 hot-swappable fan modules, operating in 3+1 redundant mode. All of these modules can be purchased separately and replaced without powering down the switch.

Use Case

The ECS-48-PoE is designed to function as an access switch in large networks where modern Wi-Fi 7 access points are used. It provides a very high power budget and, most importantly, reliable operation thanks to hot-swappable power and fan modules. Its high switching performance and Layer 3 management capabilities make it an excellent choice for a wide range of networks.
