MikroTik KNOT Gateway LR8 is an IoT gateway housed in an enclosure designed for outdoor use (IP66). It supports Bluetooth 5.1 and LoRa 868 MHz, allowing you to connect wireless sensors or tags to it. For communication with the IoT server, the device supports Ethernet, LTE Cat. 1 bis, and Wi-Fi 4 (N300). LTE Cat. 1 bis is a dedicated standard designed for IoT connections and offers significantly lower throughput than standard LTE solutions - the maximum throughput is 10 Mb/s for data download and 5 Mb/s for data upload. KNOT Gateway LR8 supports two power inputs: PoE or a 2-pin DC terminal, and also supports the PoE+ standard (802.3af/at). A standard 24 V / 0.5 A power supply is included.
IoT Gateway (Bluetooth and LoRa)
The offered product is an IoT gateway to which you can connect wireless sensors and tags. The device supports short-range communication - Bluetooth 5.1, and long-range communication - LoRa in the 868 MHz band. It allows you to aggregate IoT data, which can be initially filtered using the RouterOS system (e.g. with a script) before being forwarded to the server.

Ethernet, LTE (Cat. 1 bis), or Wi-Fi communication
An important advantage of KNOT Gateway is its three ways of communicating with the IoT server. You can use an Ethernet connection (1G Ethernet port), LTE Cat. 1 bis communication, or a Wi-Fi connection (802.11ax, 2.4 GHz band). This allows you to adapt the connection method to a specific location, while LTE Cat. 1 bis connectivity also provides communication in places where a standard network is not available.
For outdoor use, two power inputs
The device enclosure is fully designed for outdoor use, with an IP66 protection rating. This significantly expands the gateway's range of applications, allowing it to be used in transportation, logistics, or agriculture. KNOT Gateway features two power inputs - PoE and a 2-pin DC terminal. A standard 24 V DC / 0.5 A power supply is included.
