YOFC ADSS-XOTKtsdD is an ADSS type fiber optic cable primarily designed for overhead installation. It is equipped with 72 G.652.D fibers (single-mode) housed in 6 tubes. The tubes and fillers are twisted around a central reinforcing element, and the entire structure is additionally reinforced with aramid fibers. The tensile strength is 2.2 kN, with maximum spans for aerial installation as follows: 130 m for NESC Light conditions, 100 m for NESC Medium, and 60 m for NESC Heavy. The outer sheath, with a thickness of 1.5 mm, is made of HDPE. The outer diameter of the cable is 10.0 mm, and it weighs 80 kg/km.

The offered product is best suited for overhead installations, especially along main routes, in locations where a robust, low-loss fiber cable is needed. ADSS-XOTKtsdD can also be used in telecommunication ducts.

Cable construction

The cable features a multi-tube construction, with tubes and fillers twisted around a central reinforcing element - a 2.4 mm diameter FRP rod. This design ensures that the cable remains rigid, and the fibers do not experience movement or displacement due to temperature fluctuations.

Furthermore, the entire structure is additionally reinforced with circumferential Kevlar (aramid) fibers to enhance its tensile strength. Additionally, the sheath contains two ripcords to facilitate easy peeling.

Aerial installation

The offered product is designed mainly for aerial installations. The maximum tension force is 2.2 kN and the maximum span:

  • NESC Light: 130 m
  • NESC Medium: 100 m
  • NESC Heavy: 60 m

You can also install the cable in the telecommunications duct.

72 fibers (6 tubes, 0 fillers)

ADSS-XOTKtsdD has 72 Singlemode fibers type G.652.D placed in 6 tubes (12 fibers per tube). The outer diameter of the cable is 10.0 mm and the weight is 80 kg/km.

The coating is made of durable HDPE, its thickness is 1.5 mm. The cable has been adapted for installation outside buildings, its CPR class is Fca.

G.652.D (Singlemode) fiber

The fiber optic cable has been equipped with Singlemode G.652.D fibers. This fiber is characterized by low attenuation, which is ≤ 0.35 dB/km for a wavelength of 1310 nm and ≤ 0.21 dB/km for a wavelength of 1550 nm. These low losses have been achieved at the expense of less flexibility compared to G.657.A2/G.657.B3 type fibers.

Due to the provided parameters, cables equipped with G.652.D fibers are best suited for main trunks. In such applications, reduced flexibility is not a drawback, while for long-distance transmissions, the overall attenuation will be significantly lower compared to other types of fibers.
