The TP-Link Archer BE550 is a router that supports Wi-Fi 7. It uses IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ax protocols in the 2.4 GHz band, IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac/ax/be in the 5 GHz band, and IEEE 802.11 ax/be in the 6 GHz band. The maximum theoretical throughput is 574 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band, 2880 Mbps in the 5 GHz band, and 5760 Mbps in the 6 GHz band. These high speeds are achieved by using the 802.11be protocol in the two higher bands, which enables channel widths of up to 320 MHz and 4K-QAM modulation. Wi-Fi 7 introduces many modern features, including MLO (Multi-Link Operation) and Multi-RU. MLO allows a connection between the client and the router using all frequency bands simultaneously, rather than just one as in previous standards. Multi-RU enables the allocation of multiple resource units (RUs) to a single user, fully utilizing the available spectrum.
The offered product is equipped with 5 x 2.5G Ethernet ports, including 1 WAN port and 4 LAN ports. This allows you to create a local network with a bandwidth of 2500 Mbps, which is especially useful if you have a data package above 1 Gb/s. Such speed ensures very fast file transfers within the local network and allows for a high-performance wired connection to key devices such as PCs or NAS servers. An additional advantage of the Archer BE550 is its compatibility with the EasyMesh standard. This enables you to create a Mesh wireless network with other devices supporting this standard. EasyMesh is supported by various manufacturers, so you are not limited to TP-Link solutions only.
Wi-Fi 7 wireless network
The TP-Link Archer BE550 enables the transmission of a Wi-Fi 7 wireless network. This modern standard offers significantly higher bandwidth compared to Wi-Fi 6 / Wi-Fi 6E solutions. It also provides much lower latency and supports more devices connected simultaneously to the wireless network. Wi-Fi 7 introduces the MLO (Multi-Link Operation) feature, allowing a connection between the router and the client using all frequency bands simultaneously, rather than just one. Additionally, Multi-RU allows the assignment of more than one resource unit (RU) to a user, enabling them to send and receive frames more efficiently.
BE9300 throughput
The maximum theoretical throughput of the Archer BE550 is 574 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band, 2880 Mbps in the 5 GHz band, and 5760 Mbps in the 6 GHz band. The device offers significantly higher speeds compared to Wi-Fi 6 / Wi-Fi 6E solutions, made possible by the use of the 802.11be protocol, which supports channel widths of up to 320 MHz and 4K-QAM modulation.
2.5G Ethernet ports
The offered product has 5 x 2.5G Ethernet ports, including 1 WAN port and 4 LAN ports. It allows you to create a local network with a bandwidth of 2500 Mbps, which is especially appreciated by users with a data package above 1 Gb/s from their ISP. You can connect key devices such as a NAS server, PC, or console via wired connections. The 2.5 Gb/s bandwidth also ensures very fast file transfers within the local network.
Additionally, the router is equipped with 1 x USB 3.0 port. You can use it to create a file server (e.g., FTP) or a Samba server.
Large transmission range
Inside the housing, there are a total of 6 high-gain omnidirectional antennas. They are optimally positioned to provide the best possible coverage and help eliminate dead zones. The device supports Beamforming, a feature that is particularly useful for users at the edge of the coverage area, as the router shapes the beam to provide them with the best possible signal.
EasyMesh standard
The offered product is compatible with the EasyMesh standard developed by the Wi-Fi Alliance. This standard allows the creation of a Mesh network using devices from different manufacturers. You can pair the Archer BE550 with any other solution that also supports EasyMesh, so you are not restricted to using only TP-Link products. The EasyMesh network appears under a single name, and as users move around their home, they are automatically switched between access points. The Mesh network can cover very large areas, making it ideal for expansive homes and offices.
Separate IoT network
You can create a separate network dedicated to IoT devices, which is isolated from the main network. If someone manages to breach the security, for example through outdated IoT device software, they will not have access to the regular users' data.
VPN server and client
The router can function as either a VPN client or server. In both cases, it supports OpenVPN, PPTP, L2TP/IPSec, and WireGuard. VPN technology allows you to establish a secure connection to the local network, regardless of your current location.
Parental Control
You can block access to selected websites and allocate specific internet access time for users.
Notfications
The Deco app will notify you of any new devices connected to the network. You can easily disconnect suspicious devices and block them.
Easy Upgrades
With the automatic update feature, your firmware will always be up to date. You can be assured that the Archer BE800 has received the latest security patches, keeping your network protected at all times.
