The TP-Link Archer MR505 is a wireless router with a built-in LTE modem. It supports LTE Category 6 (dual-band aggregation), with a maximum theoretical throughput of 300 Mbps for downloads and 50 Mbps for uploads. It enables Wi-Fi 5 transmission, using IEEE 802.11 b/g/n protocols in the 2.4 GHz band and IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac in the 5 GHz band. The maximum theoretical Wi-Fi throughput is 300 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band and 867 Mbps in the 5 GHz band. The router has 3 gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mbps), with one port functioning as either WAN or LAN and the others as LAN only. This allows the Archer MR505 to be used as a standard router, where the LTE connection serves as a backup that activates in case the primary connection fails. Additionally, there are two SMA connectors on the back of the unit for connecting an external LTE antenna.
LTE cat 6 connection
The device features a built-in LTE Category 6 modem and is designed to aggregate two bands simultaneously. The maximum theoretical throughput is 300 Mbps for downloads and 50 Mbps for uploads. The router provides internet access wherever cellular coverage is available, making it an excellent solution for holiday homes, temporary shops, or extended trips.
Wi-Fi 5 AC1200
The Archer MR505 can transmit a Wi-Fi 5 network, using IEEE 802.11 b/g/n protocols in the 2.4 GHz band and IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac in the 5 GHz band. The maximum theoretical throughput is 300 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band and 867 Mbps in the 5 GHz band. This speed is more than sufficient for most applications, allowing full utilization of LTE Category 6 transmission.
Up to 64 clients simultaneously
The Archer MR505 stands out from the competition with its high performance. It can support up to 64 client devices simultaneously, making it suitable for use in restaurants or other locations expecting many users. The router provides good coverage, utilizing MU-MIMO technology and Beamforming functionality.
EasyMesh standard
The offered product is compatible with the EasyMesh standard developed by the Wi-Fi Alliance. This standard allows the creation of a Mesh network using devices from various manufacturers. The Archer MR505 can be paired with any solution that also supports EasyMesh, so you are not limited to using TP-Link products. The EasyMesh network appears under a single name, allowing users to be automatically switched between access points while moving around the home. The Mesh network can cover very large areas, making it ideal for extensive homes and offices.
3 gigabit Ethernet ports
The device has 3 gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mbps), with the first one functioning as either WAN or LAN, while the others are LAN only. You can use the Archer MR505 as a standard router by providing a signal through an Ethernet cable. In this configuration, the mobile LTE connection can serve as a backup link that activates in case the primary connection fails.
Easy management
You can manage the router using the Tether app available for Android and iOS devices. The setup process is simple and doesn’t require advanced knowledge. All the essential features are accessible in the app, allowing you quick access at any time.
