The TP-Link SG3428XPP-M2 is a managed switch compatible with the Omada system. It features 24 2.5G Ethernet ports and 4 SFP+ (10G) slots. Sixteen of the Ethernet ports support PoE+ output (802.3af/at), while the remaining eight ports support PoE++ (802.3af/at/bt). The maximum power output per port, according to standards, is 15.4W for 802.3af, 30W for 802.3at, or 60W for 802.3bt. The total power budget for the device is 500W. The switch is designed to power modern access points that support Wi-Fi 6E / Wi-Fi 7 and are equipped with 2.5G Ethernet ports. It supports basic Layer 2 management functions and select Layer 3 features, such as static routing and ERPS. The enclosure is designed for mounting in a 19" rack, with a height of 1U. The switch includes a built-in AC power supply, and the maximum power consumption is 629.1W. You can manage the SG3428XPP-M2 via a graphical web interface (standalone mode) or by using the Omada system.
16x 2.5G Ethernet PoE+, 8x 2.5G Ethernet PoE++, 4x SFP+
The switch is equipped with a total of 24 2.5G Ethernet ports and 4 SFP+ slots. It is ideal for networks with infrastructure based on 2.5 Gbps throughput. The maximum packet forwarding rate is 148.8 Mpps, and the total switching capacity is 200 Gbps.
The first 8 Ethernet ports feature PoE++ output (802.3af/at/bt), while the remaining 16 ports provide PoE+ output (802.3af/at). The maximum power budget per port, according to the standard, is 15.4W for 802.3af, 30W for 802.3at, and 60W for 802.3bt. The total power budget across all ports is 500W.
The device is an excellent fit for Omada networks where modern Wi-Fi 7 access points equipped with 2.5G Ethernet ports are used. These types of APs require high power, which is provided by the PoE++ standard.
Layer 2+ management, AC power supply
The SG3428XPP-M2 supports basic Layer 2 management functions and fully supports multicast features, including IGMP and MLD Snooping. Additionally, it offers some Layer 3 functions, such as DHCP server and static routing. The switch includes advanced security features to protect your network from various types of attacks. It also supports special ISP functions (available only in stand-alone mode, not in the Omada system) like L2TP, DLDP, PPPoE ID Insertion, ERPS, 802.3ah Ethernet Link OAM, and DDM.
The offered product comes with a built-in AC power supply. The input voltage ranges from 100 to 240 V AC, and the appropriate power cable is included in the package. The maximum power consumption is 629W.
Rack 19" chassis
The device's enclosure is designed for mounting in a 19" Rack, with a height of 1U. Its depth is 330 mm, making it suitable for standard racks.
Omada System Compatibility
You can manage the device using a graphical web interface in standalone mode. In this mode, the switch supports more features, including ERPS and L2PT. Alternatively, you can manage it through the Omada system. Omada allows centralized management of multiple access points, switches, and routers to create a unified, extensive wireless network. As you move between individual APs, you will be automatically switched without losing your Wi-Fi connection. Omada provides many advanced features for network configuration and maintenance, making it an ideal solution for professional use in offices, restaurants, schools, universities, and markets.
