Cisco Nexus N3K-C3048TP-1GE e' uno switch che da' la possibilita' di gestione in Layer 2/3. E' dotato di 48 porte gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000 Mb/s) e 4 slot SFP+ (1/10 Gb/s). Il dispositivo ha il box destinato al montaggio nell'armadio Rack 19", la sua altezza ammonta a 1 U. Ha 2 alimentatori che lavorano alternatamente. Nel caso del guasto di un alimentantore, l'altro e' responsabile per l'alimentazione. Sono disponibili due opzioni di alimentazione: 2x alimentatore AC (100 - 240 V AC), 2x alimentatore DC (40 - 72 V DC) oppure alimentatore AC + DC.
La capacita' massima dello switching ammonta a 176 Gb/s, invece la velocita' dei pacchetti, ammonta a 132 Mp/s. Lo switch supporta le funzioni di routing nel Layer 3, incluso BGP e OSPF. Inoltre, il dispositivo ha tutte le funzioni di Layer 2 ed e' adatto a supportare i multicast.
