Ubiquiti AF60-XR is a complete wireless device (radio with integrated antenna) designed to work in the 60 GHz band. The maximum frequency range is 57 - 71 GHz, it depends on local regulations. You can use a channel width of 1080 MHz or 2160 MHz. Thanks to the wide channel and 16QAM modulation, the maximum throughput is 2.5 Gb/s, the transmission range according to the manufacturer is up to 15 km. Please note that the range and availability of the connection are affected by weather conditions. In order to avoid possible problems, the airFiber 60 XR is equipped with an additional, backup 5 GHz radio. It takes over when the main connection fails.
The design of the device is based on an efficient quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 1.4 GHz. The housing is fully adapted for outdoor use and has an IPX6 ingress protection. The AF60-XR is equipped with an SFP+ slot with a bandwidth of 1/10 Gb/s and a Gigabit Ethernet port (10/100/1000 Mb/s). You can power the device only with the use of passive PoE and 48 V voltage. The maximum power consumption is 24 W, which is not much considering the capabilities of the airFiber 60 XR.
High efficiency
The AF60-XR has a quad-core ARM processor clocked at 1.4 GHz and 1 GB of DDR3 RAM. Such components allow for stable operation, even with high-bandwidth transmission, with a large number of packets. High performance is needed for 2.5 Gb/s connections.
Throughput 2,5 Gb/s, range up to 15 km
The device has been adapted to work in the 60 GHz band, the exact frequency range is 57 - 71 GHz. Individual channels may not be available in some regions. The maximum connection capacity is 2500 Mb/s, which is much more than in standard airFiber 60 solutions. According to the manufacturer, the transmission range is 15 km, however, it should be remembered that the range is greatly affected by weather conditions, which may lead to a decrease in throughput or even disconnection .
5 GHz backup radio
Ubiquiti airFiber 60 XR is equipped with an additional radio designed to work in the 5 GHz band. The built-in antenna for this band has an energy gain of 26 dBi, the maximum modulation is 256QAM, and the maximum channel width is 80 MHz. The 5 GHz radio resumes operation in the event of a failure or disconnection of the main connection. Thanks to this, even in the most difficult weather conditions, the created transmission will work.
1x SFP+ (10G), 1x GE, PoE input
The offered product has an SFP+ slot with a bandwidth of up to 10 Gb/s, which allows you to take full advantage of the bandwidth provided by the radio. The slot, if necessary, can also operate in 1 Gb/s mode. In addition, you can use the Gigabit Ethernet port, which also serves as a PoE power input. The device supports passive PoE with a voltage of 48 V, you will find the appropriate power supply in the set. The maximum power consumption is 24 W.
Precision alignment mount
The attached bracket will allow you to adjust the inclination in the vertical plane, which makes it much easier to align the device. Two-point mounting improves the stability you need to keep the airFiber 60 XR from shifting in the wind. The mounting pole must have a diameter of 40 - 80 mm. A precision bracket is essential if you are aligning the AF60-XR for long distance work.
UISP Application
The device is compatible with the Ubiquiti UISP software. This platform allows centralized management of the entire network based on UISP solutions. You have access to the full configuration of devices, you can easily and quickly find a specific device on the list and get to its management. On the other hand, UISP is also a tool for designing and monitoring the entire network, not just individual products. The platform also allows you to add subscribers to it, along with payment processing.
