The TP-Link RE315 is a Wi-Fi signal extender compatible with the Wi-Fi 5 standard. It supports IEEE 802.11 b/g/n protocols on the 2.4 GHz band and IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac protocols on the 5 GHz band. The maximum theoretical throughput is 300 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and 867 Mbps on the 5 GHz band. This device is primarily used to extend the range of an existing wireless network. You can pair it with any router, and the RE315 will create a separate network with a similar name, significantly increasing the transmission range. The extender features two high-gain external omnidirectional antennas. The RE315 can also function as an access point, equipped with one fast Ethernet port (10/100 Mbps) that you can use to connect to the internet signal.
The main advantage of the TP-Link RE315 is its compatibility with TP-Link OneMesh technology. The RE315 works just like a standard Mesh access point, extending the network and increasing its range while supporting data roaming. The extender is installed directly into an electrical outlet, saving space. You can configure it easily using the Tether app available for iOS and Android mobile devices.
Range extender
The offered product is designed to boost the signal of an existing Wi-Fi network. It is compatible with most routers on the market, regardless of the manufacturer. The RE315 creates its own network with a name similar to the main network. It helps eliminate dead zones where there is no signal and extends coverage to additional rooms.
TP-Link OneMesh
The offered product is compatible with the TP-Link OneMesh standard. It allows the creation of a Mesh network using compatible devices. The devices within the network communicate with each other wirelessly, eliminating the need for Ethernet cabling. This Mesh network appears as a single network name to the user, regardless of the number of bands and access points used. The system automatically decides which device the user is connected to at any given moment. As you move around your home, you will be seamlessly switched between access points without losing your internet connection. The Mesh network can cover very large areas, making it ideal for expansive homes and offices.
Wi-Fi 5 AC1200
The device supports the Wi-Fi 5 standard and is compatible with IEEE 802.11 b/g/n protocols in the 2.4 GHz band and IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac protocols in the 5 GHz band. The theoretical maximum throughput is 300 Mb/s in the 2.4 GHz band and 867 Mb/s in the 5 GHz band. The amplifier is backward compatible, so you can use it to extend a Wi-Fi 4 network, for example.
APS function
APS (Adaptive Path Selection) is a feature that automatically selects the optimal path between a client and the router. The system adapts to current network conditions to ensure the best possible connection and throughput. APS is particularly noticeable in congested networks with multiple users, where it helps to optimize performance by choosing the most efficient route.
Access Point mode
The offered product supports Access Point mode, allowing it to broadcast its own Wi-Fi network. It features 1 Fast Ethernet port (10/100 Mb/s), which can be used as WAN. In Repeater mode, the Ethernet port operates as LAN, enabling you to connect non-Wi-Fi devices, such as a PC.
WPS buttons
Using the WPS button, you can easily pair the device with your router. Simply press the WPS button on your router, then press the same button on the signal booster within 2 minutes. If your router does not support WPS, you will need to pair the devices using the Tether app or the web-based graphical interface.
LED indicator
A special LED indicator helps with positioning the device. The booster needs to be placed in the right spot to transmit a high-quality network. The signal from the router must be strong enough at this location, and the LED indicator assists in finding the optimal position by showing the signal quality.
Tether application
You can manage the RE315 using the Tether app, which is available for iOS and Android devices. The network setup is straightforward and can be completed by users with no prior experience. The app allows you to monitor the device's status and make changes to the settings in real-time. Management is also available through a graphical web interface via a web browser.
