The YOFC Z-XOTKtmd is an optical cable designed for microduct installation. It is equipped with 144 G.652.D single-mode fibers arranged in 12 tubes. The tubes and fillers are twisted around a central reinforcing element, an FRP rod, and the cable features additional peripheral reinforcement with aramid fibers. The outer sheath, with a thickness of 0.5 mm, is made of HDPE. The cable has an external diameter of 7.9 mm and weighs 52 kg/km.
This product is tailored for use in microduct systems. The corrugated outer sheath allows the cable to be installed using the blowing method. The Z-XOTKtmd is best suited for use with microducts with an internal diameter of 10–14 mm.
Cable construction
The cable is characterized by a multi-tube construction, with tubes and fillers twisted around a central strengthening element - an FRP rod. This design ensures that the cable is rigid, and the fibers do not move or shift under the influence of temperature.
The entire structure is further reinforced circumferentially with Kevlar (aramid) fibers to enhance tensile strength. Additionally, a ripcord is placed in the coating to facilitate its stripping.
Microduct
The offered product has a corrugated coating and is designed for installation in microducts using the blowing method. You can use it in microducts with an internal diameter of 10 - 14 mm.
Such a method of installation significantly speeds up the work process. Depending on the type, microducts can be used directly in the ground or in telecommunication ducts.
144 fibers (8 tube, 0 fillers)
The Z-XOTKtmd cable contains 144 Singlemode G.652.D fibers, arranged in 12 tubes with 12 fibers per tube. The cable has an external diameter of 7.9 mm and weighs 52 kg/km.
The coating is made of durable HDPE, with a thickness of 0.5 mm. The cable is designed for outdoor installation, and its CPR class is Fca.
G.652.D (Singlemode) fiber
The fiber is equipped with G.652.D Single-mode fibers. This fiber is characterized by low attenuation, which is ≤ 0.35 dB/km for the 1310 nm wave and ≤ 0.21 dB/km for the 1550 nm wave. Such low losses have been achieved at the expense of less flexibility compared to G.657.A2/G.657.B3 type fibers.
Due to the above parameters, cables equipped with G.652.D fibers are best suited for main routes. In such applications, reduced flexibility is not a disadvantage, whereas for long-distance transmissions, the total attenuation will be significantly lower compared to other types of fibers.
