D-Link DGS-3130-54PS/SI è uno switch gestito dotato di 48 porte Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000 Mb/s), 2 porte 10G Ethernet e 4 slot SFP+ (10 Gb/s). Sulle porte 1 - 48 è presente un'uscita di alimentazione PoE nello standard IEEE 802.3af /. Il budget di potenza massimo è 370 W quando si utilizza l'alimentatore integrato o 740 W quando si utilizza l'alimentatore RPS DPS-700 opzionale. Lo switch stesso ha un adattatore CA integrato, il connettore RPS opzionale (DPS-700) può essere utilizzato per l'alimentazione. Ci sono 4 ventole all'interno del case, la cui velocità si adatta al carico. La capacità di commutazione è di 216 Gb/s e la velocità di inoltro dei pacchetti è di 161 Mp/s (per pacchetti da 64 B).

Lo switch offre una gestione avanzata in Layer 3, anche se ovviamente non manca la funzionalità Layer 2. Supporta Layer 3 Multicasting - IGMP v1/v2/v3 e PIM-SM, routing hardware, routing statico, RIP v1/v2/ng e OSPF. Consente inoltre la configurazione avanzata delle VLAN, tra cui Q-in-Q e Multicast VLAN. Un altro vantaggio è la possibilità di stacking fisico, il DGS-3130-30PS/SI ha 4 porte di stacking, è possibile collegare 6 o 9 dispositivi in ​​uno stack (a seconda della versione dello switch). La gestione avviene tramite interfaccia utente Web nel browser, Telnet o strumenti D-Link.
