The G&T 0708FX is a fiber optic cleaver. It is used for precise cutting of the fiber to achieve the desired length before splicing. It can be used with fibers up to 125μm in diameter, and the cutting length ranges from 5 to 20 mm (depending on the setting). There is a waste bin on the side of the cleaver, which automatically closes after the cut. Setting the cleaver to its initial position opens the waste bin. The included blade has 16 cutting positions, and if it becomes dull, it can be adjusted. The expected blade life is 48,000 cuts. The cleaver is known for its high precision, with an average cutting angle of 0.5°.
