The TP-Link Archer BE230 is a router that supports Wi-Fi 7. It utilizes IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ax/be protocols in the 2.4 GHz band and IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac/ax/be in the 5 GHz band. The maximum theoretical throughput is 688 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band and 2882 Mbps in the 5 GHz band. While it offers lower speeds compared to tri-band Wi-Fi 7 routers, it comes at an attractive price. It supports modern features such as MLO (Multi-Link Operation) and Multi-RU. MLO allows a connection between the client and the router using all frequency bands simultaneously, rather than just one as in earlier standards. Multi-RU enables the assignment of multiple resource units (RUs) to a single user, maximizing the available spectrum usage.
The offered product is equipped with 2 x 2.5G Ethernet ports and 3 x 1G Ethernet ports. One of the 2.5G Ethernet ports serves as WAN, while the other ports function as LAN. This setup allows you to take advantage of internet packages with speeds greater than 1 Gb/s, while still having an additional port for connecting a key device, such as a PC. An added advantage of the Archer BE230 is its compatibility with the EasyMesh standard, enabling the creation of a Mesh wireless network with other devices that support this standard. EasyMesh is supported by various manufacturers, so you are not limited to TP-Link solutions only.
Wi-Fi 7 BE3600
The router can transmit a Wi-Fi 7 wireless network, utilizing IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ax/be protocols in the 2.4 GHz band and IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac/ax/be in the 5 GHz band. The maximum theoretical throughput is 688 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band and 2882 Mbps in the 5 GHz band. The Wi-Fi 7 standard introduces the MLO (Multi-Link Operation) feature, allowing connections between the router and the client using all frequency bands simultaneously, rather than just one. It also supports Multi-RU, which enables the assignment of multiple resource units (RUs) to a single user for sending and receiving frames. While the device offers lower throughput compared to tri-band Wi-Fi 7 solutions, it stands out with its very attractive price.
2x 2.5G Ethernet, 3x 1G Ethernet
The device is equipped with 2 x 2.5G Ethernet ports and 3 x 1G Ethernet ports. The first 2.5G Ethernet port can function as WAN, while all other ports operate as LAN. Users with internet packages over 1 Gb/s will appreciate the Archer BE230, as the 2.5G Ethernet LAN port allows for connecting key devices, such as a PC.
USB 3.0
The router includes an additional USB 3.0 port that you can use to create a file server (e.g., FTP) or a Samba server.
Large transmission range
Four external omnidirectional antennas ensure adequate coverage and help eliminate dead zones. Additionally, the Beamforming feature enables signal shaping, which is useful for users at the edge of the coverage area. The router directs the signal to provide the best possible connection for these users.
EasyMesh standard
The offered product is compatible with the EasyMesh standard developed by the Wi-Fi Alliance. This standard allows the creation of a Mesh network using devices from different manufacturers. You can pair the Archer BE230 with any other solution that also supports EasyMesh, so you are not restricted to using only TP-Link products. The EasyMesh network appears under a single name, and as users move around their home, they are automatically switched between access points. The Mesh network can cover very large areas, making it ideal for expansive homes and offices.
VPN server and client
The router can function as either a VPN client or server. In both cases, it supports OpenVPN, PPTP, L2TP/IPSec, and WireGuard. VPN technology allows you to establish a secure connection to the local network, regardless of your current location.
Easy configuration
You can perform the initial setup using the Tether app available for mobile devices. The process will guide you through a few simple steps, and no specialized knowledge is required to connect the router.
