The Huawei EA5801E-GP04 is a GPON OLT terminal equipped with 4 PON ports. Each port supports a bandwidth of 2.5 Gb/s downstream and 1.25 Gb/s upstream, adhering to the standard, with a maximum split ratio of 1:128. This allows the terminal to serve up to 512 subscribers in total. The device features 4 uplink SFP+ slots, each providing up to 10 Gb/s bandwidth, ensuring sufficient speeds for clients. It is housed in a compact 1U enclosure, containing two AC power supplies. The power supplies support redundancy, meaning the second unit takes over in case of a failure. The EA5801E-GP04 stands out for its low power consumption—up to 100 W maximum, with an average of just 58 W—significantly less than large, modular OLT terminals. This makes it an ideal solution for smaller locations or outdoor cabinet installations. Additionally, its relatively low cost has made it a popular choice for larger hotels and campuses.

 

GPON OLT terminal

The offered product is a transmission OLT terminal designed for GPON networks. It features 4 PON ports equipped with Class C+ SFP modules. The maximum bandwidth, as per the standard, is 2.5 Gb/s downstream and 1.25 Gb/s upstream, with a maximum split ratio of 1:128.

4 SFP+ slots (upstream)

The device is equipped with 4 SFP+ slots, which serve as uplink/upstream interfaces. These slots support speeds of 1 Gb/s or 10 Gb/s, allowing you to provide bandwidth suitable for locations where very large data packages are offered.

Two AC power supplies

The set includes two AC power supplies that can operate redundantly, ensuring uninterrupted operation as one takes over in case of a failure. The device is notable for its low power consumption, with a maximum of 100 W and a typical usage of approximately 58 W. It consumes significantly less energy compared to large, modular OLT terminals.

Advanced Features and Wi-Fi Management

The terminal supports advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3 management features, including RIP/RIPng, OSPF/OSPFv4, and BGP/BGP4+. It offers full multicast support, making it an excellent choice for use with IPTV services. An additional advantage is its ability to manage Wi-Fi systems with automatic CAPWAP provisioning (supported from software version V100R022C00). This feature enables control of Fit APs, access and roaming management, and RF optimization.

1U chassis

The device features a housing designed for installation in a 19" Rack cabinet, with a height of just 1U. It includes an integrated GPON module without expansion capability but compensates with its compact size, low power consumption, and attractive price. This makes it an excellent choice for locations with relatively few potential subscribers or for building networks in large hotels or campuses.
